Get to know, Pastor Lanka…

I am Lanka Karunakar Dass, director of AEMission. Friends in USA call me as Lanka.
I used to work as criminal Lawyer at Vijayawada Andhra Pradesh India, until God called me in an audible voice and dealt with me, I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and started working to establish the kingdom of God in India from 1989.
I have a wife, and two sons. Both sons and my wife dedicated their life's to the lord Jesus Christ to establish the kingdom of God.
My wife is working as principal of St. Paul's public school, running by AEMission.
Eldest son is working for medical mission to help the poor and Christian pastors families. Second son is helping in mission work and schoolwork .
I started working with Dennis Stoll, Merl Beiler and Ernest Hostetler and their church in Abbeville, South Carolina USA. Today in India we are raising 210 children (in two orphanages) with out cast creed and color, from poor, down trodden, schedule cast and untouchables.
We want to raise the children by giving, food, shelter, and good education. As the education only helps to them to get some jobs in the society as they are from poor and down trodden. We are also providing the children with spiritual food, the word of God.
We have 350 pastors working in the villages and rural areas, and 170 pastors that are pastoring in churches through out India. We conducted medical camps to assist the poor who are suffering and have no medical supplies.
We also have conducted pastors training programs, crusade meetings, village and rural development meetings through saving programs.
We request you to pray for us to establish the kingdom of God in India where thousands of idol gods are worshipped by the people.
We appreciate your support in prayers and we look forward to sharing with your congregation, June 22nd. God bless you!

-Pastor Lanka

Singspiration (The Wissman Family, By Grace, The Stutzman Family) this Saturday 6:30-8:30 PM. This is the kick-off for the Gospel Express prison crusade that they are putting on throughout the state of SC. Let’s show them our support and rally behind them as a congregation as we pray for and bless their ministering in the prisons during the crusade.

Wednesday evening we as a Leadership team were wondering about the possibility of meeting as a congregation at 7:00 PM to update everyone on various changes and developments as a result of last week business meeting. The meeting would be considered a. “Informative Night” with updates on the children’s playground location to Sunday School format, new tithing option, etc. In other words an evening of communicating.  We will be taking a raise of hands this morning to see the amount of interest from the congregation for a night like this.

Reminder: Alms offering next Sunday.

Jason & Fern Schlabach and Pat & Valerie Overholt are in Ohio today to celebrate with the Oasis Congregation, Wayne & Martha Weaver’s “30 years of ministry”. They return home on Monday.

Some of the DOH staff will be in Ohio this next week for a TBYL conference Wednesday – Saturday. Be in prayer for the conference and as they travel

CORRECTION: Starting November 1st , we want to put together freezer meals for Cornelia Yoder’s family she’s recovering from surgery she had done on her shoulder/arm, this is just an opportunity to help them out.

Concerning Parents of youth: we will be having a short meeting following the Sunday Morning service on November 15th. This will just be a quick overview of plans for 2016 along with policies. We look forward to seeing you there.

2016 Church Calendars: If you have any changes, events to put in, or  add your Name, Phone number, birthday, anniversary etc. Please email: mail@doorofhopeministry.com.

The upright freezer in the small “paper supply” room adjacent to the kitchen is primarily for the food committee and for special events. About 3 weeks ago someone used that freezer and didn’t shut the door properly causing a mess and a ruined compressor/freezer. A new one has been purchased. If you have need to use a freezer while at the church please use the chest freezer in the ice/utility room.

The Miller’s have a brand new CD available. If interested, pick up a copy in the lobby. Your donation can be given to any Gospel Express staff. Donation envelopes are available with the CD.

*As a Leadership team we continue to desire your prayers as we work on the Church Bylaws & Statement of Faith. We have had good discussions and are praying into what does God want for FCC.

Do I need a place to rest?
Remember, my hand made all these things!’” Acts 7:48-50

Thank You to our church family for your prayers last week for my visit to UNC.
They do not plan to take me off the Transplant list because of the
cirrhosis and it being too early know if the liver will regenerate some
or not. The UNC liver doctors will continue to monitor everything with
visits hopefully becoming less frequent to perhaps once a year eventually.
The next big blood test day is in July because if no Hepatitis C is detected
on that test, after not being on treatment for 3 months, then they
believe it's gone completely. Between now and then there is a 5% chance
of it coming back. Current MELD score is 16. We thank the creator
and choose to encourage ourselves in Christ His son, believing that
all things are in His control. Jason n Fern Schlabach
